Meet Redwood's New Branding
You may have noticed that Redwood Literacy has a new look as of October 2024. Read on to learn more about the vision behind this rebrand and what this new look means for our organization - as shared by Redwood's Founder & Director, Kait Feriante.
Why rebrand now?
Redwood has been working with Luum Studio since January of 2024 to create a long-term brand for our company – part of the reason that our brand has evolved over the years is because Redwood keeps growing and keeps segmenting to serve various audiences more specifically with a high level of excellence and a real commitment to offering best in class services to students who otherwise wouldn’t have access to them.
In an effort to figure out how to best communicate Redwood’s mission to the world, we’ve worked with Luum to help us create a new brand that will hold all that Redwood is now and all that we’re becoming.
What is changing?
The look and feel of Redwood's brand is changing to now have an adventurer and explorer theme. This is because we believe that literacy is an adventure, not a specific destination. The educational journey for individuals with learning differences is about the process and is a series of explorations. It's about being brave, being curious, and trying things that are hard – and we really feel like this archetype embodies who Redwood is.
What will stay the same?
While Redwood now has an updated brand, this does not mean that who we are or what we do is changing. Redwood is in our seventh year of programming and every year we are committed to building on what we have learned and experienced the year before. When we know better we do better, and we are always learning and growing just like our students. We have a deep commitment to listening to the feedback of our community to learn what’s working and what's not working. We will continue to listen and learn to find 1% elevations across what we do and make sure that we are always offering the best and most individualized services to meet the needs of our various partners.
Our heart, our mission, and our core values are staying consistent as we build upon all we have accomplished together over the past few years - and we are excited to see what the future holds!
What does the future of Redwood look like?
As of October 2024, I am about to embark on eight weeks of long-term strategic planning, and I am so excited. I am going to be talking to stakeholders within the company and outside of the company. I’m going to be reaching out to clients and consulting experts in the business world, picking everyone’s brain to help us figure out the best route forward. We know Redwood offers awesome services; our clients are getting individualized attention, and there’s a huge need for what we do. The work that we get to do every day is very cool - and it’s really important work. Redwood has the best team that we’ve ever had, and now our branding will help us tell our story and find the folks who really need our services. I can’t wait to learn more from our community in the coming weeks, and to plan strategic next steps. Above all, I can't wait to see where Redwood goes from here.
